President and Founder Patrick J. Kelly, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Patrick J. Kelly is the Joseph Ransohoff Professor and Chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery at NYU Medical Center. He is internationally recognized as an authority on brain tumor surgery and a pioneer in stereotactic neurosurgery and is a recipient of the Karolinska Institute's prestigious Olivecrona Prize, the World Federation of Neurological Societies' Scoville Achievement Award and the Irish Sir Peter Freyer Medal. Dr. Kelly is past President of the American Society of Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery, current Vice President of the World Society of Stereotactic Functional Neurosurgery and Member of the Medical Advisory Council of the Association for Brain Tumor Research. He has authored more than 230 scientific and clinical papers and book chapters and serves on the editorial boards of Neurosurgery, Surgical Neurology, Journal of Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery and Neurological Research. Dr. Kelly has operated on close to 7,000 brain tumors and is considered an authority in the fields of brain tumor surgery, stereotactic neurosurgery and computer application in neurosurgery.
